Boat tour on the River Seine Paris

River Seine Paris at dusk

Located at the base of the Eiffel Tower on the banks of the seine you’ll find Les Vedettes de Paris Seine river boat rides. And, if you want to see loads of landmarks in a short space of time, then a fabulous boat ride is a great way to achieve this.

See the landmarks of Paris from the Seine

If you’re at the Eiffel Tower, just nip down the steps in front to the river bank  and you’ll find the offices and quay of Les Vedettes de Paris. From here you take a one-hour cruise along taking in dozens of key sites. You’ll get to see Notre dame, the Louvre, the Conciergerie and loads more iconic sites – and you get a totally different perspective from the boat.

The tour includes an audio guide in different languages, which gives a good overview and key historic points plus a few informational tips you might not know otherwise. Did you know for instance, that the building which now houses the museum of the legion d’Honneur, next to the Musee D’Orsay was the inspiration for America’s White House?

You can buy a tour only ticket or one which includes a glass of champagne. There’s a bar on board with snacks, wines, beers etc. Sit inside surrounded by glass so you can see all round on a cold or damp day, head to the upper outdoor deck on a warm day (or wrap up) and see the sights from the Seine in style.

Right next to the quayside kiosk where you can buy tickets to go on board are several cafés and bars where you can enjoy a snack break before or after going on board. They’re all a la terrace and on cold days, out door heaters keep you cosy.

Tip: if it’s your birthday Les Vedettes de Paris will offer you a free ride and glass of champagne! Just take your passport along to show at the ticket office – Bon Anniversaire!
