Everything You Want to Know About France and More...

Bon weekend from getting chillier France

Recently I popped to Paris where autumn was reaching its end (photo above) and the Christmas lights were on. Then I went on to Caen in Normandy where I walked for miles and miles exploring the city, going to the marvellous markets, and discovering a fantastic food scene. Just down the road Rouen has recently been awarded UNESCO City of Gastronomy status, and I reckon Caen can’t be far behind. Then I went to Ouistreham, which is a lovely port town with gorgeous beaches, and I popped in on a few more places along the coast of Normandy (write up coming up in the Spring issue Good Life France Magazine – which you can subscribe to for free here: TGLF Magazine.

Meanwhile it’s getting chillier as we head into winter. Fat Cat, who turned up some years ago as the most rotund stray cat ever, has taken to laying in front of the fire for hours on end (here he is on Instagram!). I like to think he is having deep meaningful reflections on a cat’s life, but I suspect his head is full of ‘warm, happy, warm, happy’ thoughts, and not much more. Maybe ‘dinner’ pops into his head once in a while!

Can you believe it’s less than a month until Christmas?! I’m getting ready for The Good Life France Advent Calendar which will be on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, different photos on each of them – and this year I’ll also be sharing some delicious French recipes, traditions and fun stuff! I’d love you to join me for a bit of festive fun! I’ll also be heading to Paris for the Christmas lights, and to lovely Metz in the far north east to visit their famous Christmas market. Come with me via Instagram where I’ll be posting lots of lovely photos and videos as I go.

Wishing you a very bon weekend,

Bisous from a little village in the middle of nowhere, northern France, where it’s snowing today!
