Everything You Want to Know About France and More...

Bonjour from France

French bike scene

Bonjour from France and Bon Weekend to you all,

I thought I’d tell you a little bit about my week in today’s newsletter as I’ve been gallivanting about in northern France and making all sorts of wonderful discoveries. For instance, I found out that just a few miles away from where I have a home there is an ostrich farm. It was quite a bizarre sight to see all these prehistoric looking herds of birds running about in a huge field. There is also a goat farm where the lady who owns the farm milks the goats by hand and makes amazing cheese and bread to go with it. I also found a gorgeous strawberry farm where you can pick your own or buy them in boxes from an ancient farm house that takes your breath away it’s so pretty. The weather was so lovely I couldn’t resist taking some time out and going to the beach at Berck-sur-Mer on the Opal Coast. Sitting on the wall eating a bag of chips, the smell of the ocean, the sun beating down on this beautiful sandy beach – well, there’s not much that beats it… I did lots more but you’ll have to wait for next week’s blog to find out!

Here are this week’s features – hope you enjoy them and please share them if you do. The Good Life France is really growing and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all your support and the lovely messages I get and the shares and likes on Facebook and the RT’s on Twitter.

Best wishes,

Bastille Day: Not long now – 14th July is almost here and we’ll hold a give-away to celebrate the big event in France!

Antiques market Montreuil-sur-Mer: Every Bastille Day, this town where Victor Hugo stayed with his mistress and was inspired to write Les Miserables, holds an excellent antiques brocante. Professional dealers vie with amateurs – you can buy something cheap and cheerful or something very swanky and very expensive. Less than an hour from Calais – it’s a great day trip destination.
