Places to check out

Le Touquet Paris-Plage on the Opal Coast of Northern France: This chic little French seaside resort is less than an hour’s drive from Calais. It is a very smart resort known to the locals as the “Monaco of the North”. The Paris-Plage bit of its name is a nod to the number of Parisians whose secret top destination for a getaway break is Le Touquet – the perfect weekend destination. We visited Le Pavillon, a Michelin-starred restaurant in the town and we can’t wait for the upcoming event “British Week” in Le Touquet in which our French friends celebrate their close ties to the UK in three weeks of festivities!

Lille: One of the best shopping cities in France. Wander the streets of the old town taking in the fabulous architecture and shop until you drop – there are more than 3900 shops to choose from! Enjoy the  ambience in this dynamic and cosmopolitan city and rest your weary feet in one of the 500 bars and restaurants!

Chocolat Town: We look at Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, the beautiful hill top town where Joanne Harris’ beautiful love story Chocolat was filmed and find its just as pretty in real life as it is in the film.

Bordeaux: We explore this elegant city and find out what to see and do when you visit.
