If you’re looking for a comfy hotel with a touch of luxury right by the Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est then you will do no better than to check into the four star Hotel Mademoiselle 7, rue des Petits Hôtels.

Situated a stone’s throw from two of the busiest stations in France, in a road in the business district that’s quite busy by day but a haven of tranquillity by night, this hotel is in the perfect location for visitors to Paris.

It’s just a fifteen minute walk to Montmartre, the metro stations are really close, Gare du Nord is a five minute walk as is Gare de l’Est and the RER line for Disney Paris is a few moments away. You’d think that this has got to be in such a busy spot it’s unbearable. You will be very surprised. Real Paris is just two minutes away from one of the busiest parts of Paris, and while one end of the road leads to the stations, the other end leads to restaurants and bars, pretty squares and churches and local life in the city.

The rooms are stylish and immaculately clean with great bathrooms. The breakfast area is very relaxing and welcoming and there’s a great buffet breakfast with a tempting choice and good coffee. An inner courtyard filled with plants is a little oasis and perfect to relax with a cup of coffee and a croissant.

There are spa facilities at the hotel but you need to book them in advance. The spa is restricted to a 30 minute slot for a couple/family at a time, rather than be squashed up. When you’ve been schlepping around the city all day, it’s a really welcome touch that you don’t find in most hotels of this price range.  Just ask at reception or book it when you book your room to make sure you get a slot. There’s a steam room and sauna, robes and slippers and fluffy towels are provided free to guests. If you want a massage, manicure or treatment, you can book that at reception.

There’s no restaurant here but you really don’t need it in this location, with great restaurants and cafés just minutes away. On the corner of the street is the fabulous Marché Couvert Saint Quentin which has been there since 1866. This is a really great place to pop in for a coffee, beer or wine, the oyster bar, restaurants or to do a spot of food shopping and mingle with the locals who come here daily.

The Hotel Mademoiselle staff are friendly, helpful and know the local area really well. There are often special offers on the hotel website and, with a room for 2 with breakfast from 100 Euros (2016) – this place is an absolute bargain.
