Lavender-field-in-Provence-bon-weekend

Bonjour!

Hope you had a great week where ever you are…

Here in my part of France Rocky the Rescue Duck’s 6 ducklings have really grown and they are very cheeky and bold. In fact they’re ready to join the big wide world of ducks in the pen this weekend though they will be living in a fenced off bit that they are small enough to get into and out of in case they need to get out of the way of some of the bigger ducks.

Meanwhile Hoppy the chicken who hurt her leg has been joined by another chicken with a bad foot. My chickens tend to live to a ripe old age but it catches up with them eventually I’m sorry to say. Both these chooks are living in in their own bit of the garden where they can’t be bullied by the others.

The geese are still sitting on their eggs, it’s been weeks now and I don’t think there’s going to be a happy outcome. This will be the third year that they’ve sat on eggs and nothing happened, I feel so sorry for them sitting there for hours on end, turning the eggs with such patience and tenderness. I could be wrong… I hope I’m wrong.

In the meantime I am packing to go to the Loire Valley and looking forward to visit chateaux, drink wine and eat local cheeses and find out what there is to do in and around Angers.

However busy it gets, I always find time to share some of my discoveries and secrets and I hope you enjoy the selection of features from the website this week (below).

Bon weekend
Bisous from France
