Le Touquet is a chic and charming seaside town on the Opal Coast, about 45 minutes from Calais. Famous for its smart villas, Paris-style shops and art deco covered market place, at Christmas Le Touquet pulls out all the stops and hosts a traditional Christmas Market, wonderful lights, an enchanted forest and more. The festive season in Le Touquet gets underway from the end of November with the official turning on of the lights in the town…
Christmas in Le Touquet
There’s one main road into town, and as you enter Le Touquet, you’ll be welcomed by the sight of the Christmas village and the lovely band stand in the Parc des Pins, covered in thousands of twinkly lights. It is the perfect place for a selfie (and there are even props like fun hats for visitors to use in their photos). The roads are lined with Christmas trees and more lights and the whole place charms with its celebratory festive spirit.
On weekends and school holidays, take a horse drawn carriage ride through the town. The Christmas village will be open with its little chalets selling artisan goods and sweet treats. Get your ice skates on for the rink. Take in a concert, there’s a programme of Jazz and choir music. Visit Santa Claus or just wander and admire the fabulous window displays. Hotels, restaurants and shops put on a grand display and festive menus.
There are plenty of places to stop for a hot chocolate, glass of wine or Champagne – and the bar at the art deco Westminster Hotel serves all three in style!
For a tasty lunch (or dinner), Chez Perrard, rue de Metz, is a legend in Le Touquet. Delicious fish soup and the freshest fish dishes including bouillabaise. They have a great bistro, heated outdoor barbecue area and a swanky oyster and wine bar.

Le Touquet Christmas market alpine chalets and Christmas lights from 24 November 2023 to 7 January 2023. The Christmas market takes places over the weekend of 9-10 December, 2023.
