Salut mes amis and Bon Weekend… and a great big welcome to all our new subscribers.

In this week’s newsletter we look at learning French and great places to practice your new French language skills from Paris to Provence, Deauville, Alsace, Cassis, Ile de Re and more.

I’ve been making cheese at a local goat farm and met a French family who grow hundreds and hundreds of organic heirloom vegetables to sell in their shop and make into mouth-watering meals at their little auberge. I’ll be telling you more about this next week. Sometimes I think I have the best job in the world (most of the time I think that actually)…

Chez moi, my growing animal family has been joined by Lucky the new born duckling after I found her swimming frantically in a pond unable to get out while her soppy first time mum just watched. Hank Marvin the starving kitten who my other cats bought home is doing well after some help from the vet. He is blind in one eye from a nasty infection but otherwise he’s starting to play and has become very affectionate, I like to think he knows I’m trying to help him. Finally a giant hedgehog has taken to appearing at the back door every night so we’re feeding him up ready for his winter hibernation. My neighbour Jean-Paul tells me we should call the house “ Le Zoo des Anglais”!

With best wishes from me and all the animals!
Bon  Weekend,
