Moo-ton Cadet Rouge for the lady?

Man herds cows along a country lane

A farmer in the Herault region has been experimenting with supplementing the diet of his cows with a good red wine.

The lucky three cows that were chosen were given a glass or two every day of a decent red wine together with some grape pomace.  The result was, the farmer says, exceptional quality meat.

The farmer from Lunel-Viel says that the cows liked the wine and consumed it with much relish!

Perhaps the “Vinbovin” experiment will catch on and the menu will be rolled out to more cows and become as famous as Wagyū beef.  Wagyū are a breed which are fed beer to enhance the taste of the meat and is considered by many to be the best beef in the world.
