Everything You Want to Know About France and More...

Newsletter August- No. 2

Bonjour Tout le Monde! A great bit hello and welcome to new subscribers and a great big welcome back to everyone else from all of us at The Good Life France.

I’m sending this to you on an absolutely glorious weekend in France. All week long the weather forecasters have been hinting at warm weather but refusing to say the words “heat wave” – but this weekend – that’s what we’ve got!

That’s not the only good thing that’s happened this week  – we’ve had a positively bumper week of interviews, reviews, features and updates in the The Good Life France magazine – the best free on line magazine about France!

We published an EXCLUSIVE interview with the lovely Susie Kelly – she’s the best-selling author of Best Foot Forward which we reviewed (and loved) and she could not have been nicer.

We also had an interview with Olivier Jauffrit – the owner of French radio station Paris Chanson. He was rushed off his feet as he was commentating at the London Olympics but he still found time to be charming and answer all of our questions.

The lovely Marcia Chun of Vintage French Hen from California told us about her French style and what inspires her – she’s crazy for Parisian chic and her home reflects her great taste.

Julie and Simon Tee from … shared their story with us. After a series of tragic events including being caught up in the Tsunami disaster in Taiwan in 2004 they decided on a change of life and set out for a new life in France.

In the village – there has been a cloud on the horizon of true love for Monsieur and Madame J, my elderly neighbours after Madame accused Monsieur of flirting with a pretty young girl!  I had to play Agony Aunt… I’ve had problems I didn’t bank on when I tried to pay some cash into a local branch of my bank… and I had a bit of disappointment on my plans for visiting Paris – the Ritz is shut for a refurb job so now where to have a cocktail on my birthday?!

A bientôt
Janine
