Personal, creative, life-changing.  Imagine the luxury of six whole days away from it all in this tranquil corner of rural France to focus on you and to reflect on where you’re heading.  If you’re wondering what else life has to offer than just being busy, take this moment to stop. If you’re feeling in a bit of rut and not clear how and what to do about it, this is the perfect occasion for you. A holiday often offers too many interesting things to do. On a retreat however you have permission to just be and turn your attention inside – plus, this one takes you site-seeing too!

Slow it all down and take a break from your mobile, your job, your children, your partner and quieten a preoccupied mind through mindfulness and creativity practice. Relax and explore some beautiful places, sample the local wines and regional cuisine without having to be in charge of it all. We’ll take care of you on this fully-inclusive, fully-facilitated small group retreat, perfect for people who are ready to look deeper below the surface for the answers.

Welcome to Le Presbytere. This magnificent 14th century property will be your temporary home.  You’ll notice how welcoming it feels and how perfectly suited for stepping back from the world.

Adjacent to the ancient church built at the same time, both stone-walled buildings nestle into the heart of the small village so aptly called Vieux in this Gaillac wine growing area. With only 300 inhabitants, the village is a recluse among sunflowers, vineyards and lavender fields yet the excursions that are planned are all less than 30 minutes’ drive away – Albi, Cordes sur Ciel, Saint Antonin, to name a few.

This was originally Cathar country – yes, where the word cathartic comes from and how appropriate for your experience here! You’ll be surrounded by Bastide hilltop villages with loads of character and beautiful undulating countryside, retaining so much that is quintessentially French and adorable.

stunning-french-retreat“This is the second Soul Alive Retreat I’ve attended, both fabulous, and particularly because of the relaxed, informal and explorative style. The one in Vieux was set in a beautiful old French house with a magnificent garden and pool. It was a combination of contemplative time-out and a guided tour of towns, villages and chateau in the area. Retreat founder Mary Nonde combines her wide knowledge and experience in well-being and personal development with her natural abilities as a tour guide. I’d highly recommend this if you need time away from a busy lifestyle to relax, enquire and explore in a beautiful environment.” Diane, Osteopath, UK
