The surprise wedding gift in France

Tables and chairs in a tent decorated for a wedding

A bride in France gave birth just minutes after the wedding ceremony completed – making this a big day to remember.

The mayor of the commune of Jallais in Maine-et-Loire has provided details of a wedding with a difference at the local town hall.  The bride whose due date was 14 July arrived for her wedding ceremony on 7 July.  As she wasn’t feeling very well the Mayor said that he hurried the process a little but when guests departed for the wedding drink at a nearby venue, the bride and groom who stayed for photos on the steps of the Town Hall had a big surprise.  It was evident the baby wanted to be there for his parents big day, the fire brigade were called and the healthy baby boy was delivered at the town hall – a rare first for the Mayor and the fire fighters.

Felicitations to Mum, Dad and baby!
