It’s not unheard of for a postman to be tempted to help himself to some of the goodies that come his way in the postal system and usually the authorities will set up surveillance teams and attempt to catch the culprit with cameras and spy work.
However in Paris they like to do this kind of thing with a little more style and when it was discovered in a sorting office in the east of the city that the contents of some packages were going missing the investigators set up a sting.
A number of dummy packages were introduced into the queue for sorting but they were packed with shiny, sticky sequins – anyone sticking their fingers in the package-pie would be in for a sticky shock.
The sting was successful – the thieving postman was caught red-sequin-handed in full view of all his colleagues and coughed to his misdemeanours
