For a Valentine’s night event that’s truly different but very romantic and special, then take a look at Nausicaa aquarium at Boulogne-sur-Mer.
The award-winning aquarium, one of the largest in Europe puts on special theme nights just a few times a year and Valentine’s Day is one of them. Numbers are limited which means that you get to visit the animals without crowds (this being one of the most popular attractions in the north of France). It makes for an intimate evening with a real difference as you get time to get up close to the 36,000 animals, dip your hands in the two touch pools and personally greet the inhabitants.
Sealions, penguins, cayman, giant tortoises, shark and amazing rare fish can all be seen enjoying the night.
On this magical “mer veilleuse” Valentine’s evening (mer is French for sea), violinists will play soft music, canapés and Champagne will be offered – a unique opportunity for a convivial and romantic evening. It might be cold outside but inside it will be warm as you stroll around the tropical lagoon and enjoy the music, the fizz and the atmosphere.
If you really want to push the boat out for a very special treat, award winning Michelin Star chef Tony Lestienne willl be cooking a very special Valentine’s night gourmet, elegant meal in the tropical lagoon – it doesn’t get much more special than that!
