The Wonder Vintage Market Paris was created by two Parisians who wanted to bring together vendors of vintage goods in Paris.
It is a unique concept for a market that celebrates furniture design, fashion and décor from the Roaring Twenties to the 1980s, a showcase for the best of vintage in a beautifully renovated former 19th century warehouse in the heart of the Marais, in Paris.
In this historic district which is home to many outstanding buildings, spread across parts of the 3rd and 4th arrondissements there is a village feel and a link to the mediaeval past of this great metropolis. Art galleries and design shops abound, pastry shops, bistros and cafés tempt you to while away the hours and try their wares. Splendid squares such as the Place de Vosges where Victor Hugo lived impress with their architecture and pure Parisian feel. Street artist Jean-François Perroy, aka “Jef Aérosol” has left his mark here and museums such as the Picasso Museum and the Carnavalet, dedicated to the history of Paris and set in two mansions of the 16th and 17th Century offer cultural distractions.
It is a trendy, switched on area of Paris, vintage shops pepper the area and it is perfect for the annual Wonder Vintage Market with its hostesses decked out in 60’s vintage gear. If you want to try the look yourself you can opt for a makeover or get your nails painted and be photographed in a professional studio decorated in the style of “Mad Men”.
Here you can browse the stalls which the organisers say have been chosen for their quality and variety; musical interludes will be on offer and a café and retro candy bar will be open for those moments when you need to rest your feet!
