Immersion in France - the natural way to learn French
Aix-en-Provence

When it comes to learning French – there’s a great variety of methods available, including apps, cds and in person or online teaching, but without a doubt, the most successful way to learn French is through immersion in France – the natural way to learn French. And in 2026, SL Immersion – the French language immersion specialists, are hosting immersions in sunny Aix-en-Provence.

Fast track your French

Immersing yourself in the daily life of France – the culture, history and gastronomy is the natural way to learn French. Nothing fast tracks your French like a full immersion!

“This immersion is ideal for intermediate French learners who want to move beyond the textbook and really use their French in daily life” says Celtina Masardo CEO of SL Immersion. “The programme is built around a natural and fully immersive approach. You’ll have structured classroom lessons each morning, then continue practising French over lunch and throughout afternoon activities. It’s a blend of guided learning, real-life communication, and cultural experiences that are designed to build confidence and help you use French naturally. “

Immersion in France – the natural way to learn French

“The way we help people progress their French is through authentic experiences” says Celtina, “having real conversations in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. And the grammar that everyone worries about – it’s there, but it’s embedded in context, linked to what you see, taste, do which helps to ‘anchor’ your learning – when you’re enjoying something, you remember it better.”

This is an ideal immersion for those who can already hold a simple conversation but want to feel more confident. You’ll see rapid improvement from personalised tuition from an expert teacher, with a supportive small group of like-minded fellow students.

It’s not just about verbs and vocabulary on this immersion course, it’s also about confidence. When you’re surrounded by French — in every conversation, every menu, every moment of daily life — your brain has no choice but to wake up and start tuning in. It works like a switch – you stop mentally translating and start thinking in French.

And that’s why immersion works so well – you don’t just learn French — you live it. You begin to understand the nuances, how to be polite in French when you didn’t even know there was a way to not be polite!  You start to pick up the accent and expressions that never appear in textbooks – real French spoken as it is in daily life in France.

“The constant exposure builds fluency fast” says Celtina. “When you join the wine tasting session, go on tours, shop at the market, visit the museums, have lunch together, you learn the rhythm of French life – the language, the gestures, the soul of French, and we’ll encourage you all the way.”
