Palace of Chocolate Vaux-le-Vicomte

Chocolate and Chateaux – that phrase just rolls off the tongue and feels you with good thoughts doesn’t it! So how does chocolate and the Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte, one of the most beautiful castles in France sound in one sentence?!

For three days in November 2015, the castle will be transformed into a fantasy Palace of Chocolate and sweetness as chocolatiers and renowned confectioners of international acclaim will exhibit their creations at the magnificent Vaux-le-Vicomte Chateau in Maincy, near Melun, 55 kilometres  southeast of Paris in the Seine-et-Marne département of France.

Sculpture-chocolatMacarons from the famous Frederic Cassel,  delicious pastries from Aoki specialities from Lahrer and Jacques Bellanger and many other of the best chocolatiers in the world.

There are workshops where you’ll have the arduous task of tasting the flavours of dark chocolate and wine or Champagne and macarons. There will be presentations, exhibitions of chocolate making galore, a world of flavours and intoxicating aromas.

In 2015, in honour of the 400th anniversary of the birth of Nicolas Fouquet who built this incredible castle, the centerpiece of the Grand Salon will represent the art of the table in the 17th century with a sensational  creation of chocolate and candied fruit. Produced by Arnaud Lahrer, Meilleur Ouvrier in France, this amazing concoction will reach than five metres in height and will  be three metres wide – a symbol of l’art de vivre, the art of French living, in a most stunning setting.
