The cave of cheese dreams in Bordeaux

Bordeaux is renowned for its wine, UNESCO-listed for its wonderful architecture and famous for its gastronomy.  One of the best ways to explore all three aspects is by food tours in Bordeaux – and not just any old food tour – a delicious cheese and wine experience by Ophorus!

Cheese and Wine tour in Bordeaux

Bordeaux may be synonymous with wine, but cheese has always been its natural partner. France produces more than a thousand varieties of cheese, the result of centuries of culinary know-how. And the most memorable and delicious pairings take place in a legendary cheese restaurant with an 18th century vaulted stone cellar in the city. Hidden beneath a restaurant in the historic centre, like a cheesy speakeasy, the cellar, known as the “Cave of 100 cheeses,” feels like stepping into a secret corner of French gastronomic heritage. Ophorus run two different experiences where you’ll be guided by an English-speaking expert to discover why the French consider cheese and wine not simply as food, but an expression of art de vivre, the art of living well, and one of the the best foodie experiences of Bordeaux.
