Daily Language Lessons with a Native French Teacher
Your course begins before you arrive with an online preparation course to make sure you get the most from the week, get to know the city, discover French cuisine – and virtually meet your fellow guests. Check into your hotel on Day 1 and enjoy a welcome drink and meet your new friends for real!
From Monday to Friday, you’ll enjoy three hours of classroom-based, plus one session outdoors, of focused, small-group lessons each morning with an experienced, encouraging tutor. Béatrice is a native, certified teacher with years of immersion‑teaching experience. Her tailored guidance will help you improve your pronunciation, grow your vocabulary, and build your confidence in speaking.
The whole group will enjoy lunch together every day in local restaurants with guided conversations.
Cultural Excursions that Bring French to Life
Afternoons are for exploring the historic streets, and nearby gems with your group – practising what you’ve learned as you go. You’ll also have guided city visits and the places that Cezanne, son of Aix, loved to paint, wine tasting, museums and a Santon maker’s atelier for an authentic taste of Provencal culture.
The constant reinforcement of speaking French makes your brain adapt, there are no distractions, no switching into English, so progress is rapid and it will surprise you how quickly you think “Je comprends mieux” and when you start thinking in French as inevitably happens – you know that you’ve made a huge leap forward with your French.
Evenings Free to Discover at Your Pace
In the evenings you’ll have free time to relax in the bar or the shady terrace of the Hotel Cezanne which will be your home in the heart of this historic city for a week and just a couple of minutes on foot to the famous Cours Mirabeau, the “Champs-Elysées” of Aix, or maybe join your classmates for dinner. Or perhaps you’ll choose to wander the cobbled streets and find your perfect café to sit and watch the world go by with a glass of chilled local rosé and a plate of charcuterie and cheeses (I’ve already got a long list of favourites to share!), see a movie (in French of course), or head up the hill to see the sun set over Mont Victoire, the mountain that captivated Cezanne. It’s all part of the immersion experience and gives you time to recharge.
